WE TRIED FROOZE BALLS
Have you heard of Frooze Balls? They are a New Zeeland-based plant-powered snack that boasts real fruit, tasty nuts, and zero junk! I came across Frooze Balls after arriving at the airport after dinner. The person that picked me up was kind enough to have a few vegan snacks for me. In the bag of treats? A six-pack box of Frooze Balls. After trying these treats, I know that I wanted to share my experience on PlantBasedSlay!
All about Frooze Balls
Frooze Balls are not in any of the local grocery stores. So, I was excited to try and learn more about them. Before we get to the taste test, here are a few interesting things:
Fresh, not frozen: Despite their name, Frooze Balls are not a frozen confectionary. They are shelf-stable vegan “energy balls”.
Delicious variety: Frooze balls has two lines – classic and double filled. From the classic dark forest to the double-filled lemon cheesecake, there are a total of 10 flavors to choose from. See the full list on their website.
Packed with protein: Each pack contains five energy about the diameter of a quarter and full of protein. Each pack ranges from 5 to 7 grams of protein.
Doorstep delivery: These plant-based treats are available at Trader Joes, HyVee and even Thrive Market. Don’t have access to these places, not to worry. You can get Frooze Balls delivered right to your doorstep with Amazon.
Now that we know a little more about Frooze Balls, let’s dive into the flavors.
Inside the Variety Box
In this post, we will review the double-filled Frooze Balls variety box. My six-pack box came with two 2.5-ounce bags of Chaco Hazelnut, two 2.5-ounce bags of Peanut Butter and Jelly, one 2.5-ounce bag of Blueberry Crumble, one 2.5-ounce bag of Lemon Cheesecake and an affirmation I can’t help but share: “You are incredi-ball, amaze-balls, wonder-ball, lov-a-ball.”
Here is a rundown of the four rich flavors packed with “unbeliev-a-ball yumminess”:
Lemon Cheesecake (my favorite). A coconut covered date ball filled lemon marmalade and cashew cream. Can you say lemony goodness? This energy ball is a good balance between tart and sweet.
Choc Hazelnut (a close runner up for my favorite). A coconut covered date ball filled with creamy chocolate and hazelnut butter. A nice addition for chocolate lovers like me.
Peanut Butter & Jelly. Tastes just like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! A coconut covered date ball filled with peanut butter and strawberry puree.
Blueberry Crumble. This one reminds me of a blueberry pie. A coconut covered date ball filled with cashew butter and blueberry puree.
Final thoughts
I like everything about this product! I would give this product five out of five!
There is so much to love about Frooze Balls, but here are a few of my favorite things:
Rich flavors & amazing ingredients: I love that these plant-based treats are made with fruits and nuts. My favorite part is the creamy filling. It’s a nice surprise and adds a ton of flavor.
Portable & Recyclable: The snack bags are easy to carry in a purse or backpack. They are also recyclable. So not only are these treats good for you, they are good for the environment.
Not just a snack: This product is labeled as a snack. However, they are also great for breakfast and a dessert alternative. I liked having them in the morning with a cup of hot tea.
