BOOKS THAT CONTINUE TO INSPIRE
As you scroll through PlantBasedSlay, you will see mention of intentional consumption. This set of words is the heartbeat and founding mantra of this digital space. But, what does it mean? For this space, intentional consumption is being mindful about what you are fueling your mind and spirit as well as your body. Another way to think of intentional consumption is one simple question – Does it serve you?
There are many ways to consume information – tv, music, podcasts and books. In this post, I am going to share a few of the books that served me well. They inspired my journey and truly fed my soul.
Think & Grow Rich. If you are looking for a step-by-step guide to get rich quick, this book is not for you. Instead, this book teaches you to shift your mindset from a place of need to a place of acting as if you already have what you desire while you follow your passion in life.
Living Buddha, Living Christ. Whether or not you have a religious background, this book helped me get a better understanding of spirituality and inspired my journey into mindfulness. It is a book that I recommend to friends and family quite often and one I find myself gravitating back to when I need a refresh.
The Alchemist. I decided to read this book during quarantine and I am glad that I did. It’s a story that keeps you hooked but also teaches us to listen to our hearts, be flexible in our journeys and that your journey might not end where we think it will.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck. What is not to love about this book? This book was recommended to me and everything I needed at the time. It is all about prioritizing your energy – what to give energy to and what to stop caring about – and being intentional.
The Four Noble Truths of Love. My most recent find, this book offers a mindful approach to relationships with anyone by understanding expectations that could hold you back from opening your heart and having compassion for the person you are in relation with.
I am excited to continue reading and finding books that feed my mind and soul. Have you read any books or have a few that have inspired you? I would love to hear about the books that have inspired you. Comment below or tag us on Instagram, @plantbasedslay.
